Our Work in the Community
Interact is a leader in establishing innovative partnerships that target people with multiple and complex needs who too often slip through the gaps in community service provision. The philosophy and practice of these projects is to increase collaboration between government departments, service providers and the broader community to better address the needs of people experiencing social exclusion and improve the integration of our responses. Collaborative project partnerships aim to assist people experiencing social and economic exclusion to achieve their goals and aspirations and participate more fully in community life.
Eclipse Family Program
Interact is partnering with Odyssey House Victoria and TaskForce Community Agency to provide a specialist service for young people (16-24yrs) with mental health issues and substance dependence together with their families. The Eclipse Family Program provides client engagement, treatment planning, family interventions and support.

Stepping Up Stepping Out (SUSO)
Interact, Odyssey House Victoria, TaskForce Community Agency and Youth Projects Inc are working in partnership with Corrections Victoria to deliver the Stepping Up Stepping Out project to prisoners at the Judy Lazarus Transition Centre in Melbourne. The philosophy and practice of this pilot project is to provide a ‘joined up’ service response that addresses the multiple and complex needs that incarcerated men experience post release.

Weighbridge Multipurpose Garden Project
The Weighbridge Multipurpose Garden Project at the Weighbridge Aged Care Facility in Flemington involves a partnership between Interact and North West Mental Health Services. The project is supported by a number of local community groups, businesses and Kangan Batman TAFE.

The Get Smart Program
Get Smart is an education re-engagement project for young women who are pregnant or parenting and homeless or at risk of homelessness. The project was initiated by Family Access Network (a Youth Homeless Service based in Box Hill) and has been enhanced through the partnership with Interact to engage a range of other community services. Funding is currently being sought to expand this project.

Monash Men’s Shed
Interact is an active partner in the development of a new Men’s Shed for the City of Monash. Initiated by Monash City Council, this project is being undertaken with a number of health and community service providers as well as local service clubs. The role of Interact in the partnership is to ensure access and inclusion for all.
