The Interact Learning Services Approach

ILS provide a range of support services designed to respond to each persons goals, interests and aspirations which are identified through an individually tailored Person Centred Plan.

We endeavour to build on each persons abilities, through experiential learning opportunities which enhance a sense of self-worth.

The goal of ILS is to enrich the quality of life of each person through engaging in activities of their choice, developing self expression and facilitating inclusion in their local community.

Programs

We offer a mix of centre based and community based activities to deliver a broad range of programs that meet individual needs and interests such as sensory stimulation programs, independent living skills training and recreational activities including art, music and sports.

These programs build self esteem and confidence and have a strong focus on engaging the local community to achieve participation in community life.

ILS employ qualified and highly motivated staff to facilitate developmental learning opportunities and provide support to the individual to live their chosen lifestyle.

Interact Learning Services currently operates from three Centres:

  • Fairfield - The Fairfield Centre is our largest facility which has been purpose built to accommodate people with a range of disabilities. This Centre is also the home of the Fairfield Community Garden.
  • North Balwyn - The North Balwyn Centre is located in the bustling North Balwyn Village and is a unique facility that provides a range of multi-sensory environments which stimulate and promote skills development for people with special needs. Click here to download the brochure.
  • Croydon - The Croydon Centre provides a central location for participants to meet before engaging in a broad range of community activities including recreation, education and volunteer programs. Staff from the Croydon Centre also manage and facilitate ILS programs based at Wyreena Community Arts Centre and Maroondah Federation Estate.

Each Interact Learning Services Centre has links to a ‘Bright Futures’ Program for young adults operating in the local area. ‘Bright Futures’ is a specialist program for school leavers aged 18 – 21 years. Click here for more information.

Some programs will incur additional fees depending on the transport requirements and costs involved. Interact is committed to providing the highest quality of programs for the lowest possible costs. We regularly seek support from governments, philanthropic organisations and the community to reduce program expenses and subsidize participants experiencing economic hardship.
