Future Unlimited

  • More Information?

Interact Future Unlimited offers a fresh and innovative approach to the provision of group based disability services. Future Unlimited based on the Sunshine Coast provides a goal directed response for participants' lifestyle aspirations. Service provision is largely community based, with some complimentary, intensive centre based support.

The program

The program focuses on providing participants with new life experiences aimed at broadening their knowledge and opportunities. The other focus of this service will be to facilitate community connections and build capacity within the local community.

At this stage we are unable to provide specific information about the activities to be offered by Future Unlimited. We believe that being too prescriptive in the type of activities offered would risk restricting participants to pre-determined programs rather than program choices being created from request and necessity following individual assessments.

How to get involved?

Referrals can be received from anyone – parent, school, medical professional, service provider or other sources. Within 4 weeks of a referral being received, the Service Coordinator will make contact with the applicant to discuss their service needs and provide additional information about the service. Successful applicants will then participate in an assessment and support planning process. Upon commencement of services, participants will also have regular reviews to ensure their lifestyle goals are being met.

Who can receive assistance?

Future Unlimited has received funding from Queensland Department of Communities under the day service initiative.

To be eligible for Future Unlimited, participants must

  • be eligible for Queensland Department of Communities support, and
  • have a permanent disability and be aged 18 to 65 years.

Services can also be purchased from Future Unlimited using individual funding package or self funded means.
