The Monash Mens Shed Project
Men’s Sheds provide an important communal space, particularly for older men in Australian society, to come together and demonstrate their skills, contribute something back to their communities, make new friends and avail themselves of information on health and other community programs.
A formal partnership has been established between the City of Monash, Interact, Glen Waverly Rotary Club, Glen Waverly Lions Club, Wavelink, Waverly Community Learning Centre and Eastern Access Community Health Service to implement the project. This important resource for men in the City of Monash is located at 46 Bongong Avenue, Glen Waverly and it is anticipated that Stage 1 of the building redevelopment will be completed in September 2010 and stage 2 by February 2011.
This project has been funded by the partner agencies, Westpac and the Victorian Department of Planning and Community Development.
